What is the Hobot 2S?

The Hobot 2S is an automatic window cleaning robot that cleans glass surfaces inside and outside the house. Its areas of use include various (glass) surfaces throughout the home. Please note that this Hobot model is designed only for private households. The glass thickness is less relevant for using the robot, as it can be used on single, double, or triple-glazed fronts.

However, it is very important that this window cleaning robot is used exclusively on vertical surfaces – it is not suitable for inclined surfaces, skylights, patio roofs, or similar!

How does the window robot work?

To ensure safe operation, the Hobot 2S is equipped with numerous safety features and sensors. It has 2 water tanks, each with an ultrasonic spray nozzle. This applies a fine mist to the surface. The surface to be cleaned is covered in a systematic cleaning path (N- or Z-shaped). Thanks to its intelligent cleaning system, full-surface cleaning is guaranteed.

As soon as the Hobot 2S detects dust, it is removed from the window robot using patented filter technology. The microfiber cloth loosens and absorbs the dirt. During operation, the window cleaning robot is connected to a power outlet via a power cable and power supply. In case of a power outage, the Hobot 2S is supported by an emergency battery for up to 20 minutes to keep the robot attached to the surface.

Thanks to its innovative Navig+ technology, the Hobot 2S window cleaning robot navigates skillfully and reliably. It achieves its long reach through systematic movement, cleaning the glass front in straight lines (N- or Z-shaped).

Power Cable and Emergency Battery

During the entire cleaning process, the window robot is connected to power. In the unlikely event of a power failure, the Hobot 2S remains attached to the surface for up to 20 minutes thanks to its emergency battery. Please note that operation without a power cable is not possible.

How can I control the Hobot 2S?

The window robot offers 3 different control options. It can be operated via a Bluetooth app, with the remote control, or directly using the buttons on the Hobot.

Please note that it is a Bluetooth app, so the distance between the Hobot and your smartphone cannot be too far – otherwise, the connection will not work.

Voice Assistant

The new Hobot 2S model is equipped with a voice assistant. It helps throughout the cleaning process and provides hints on the optimal time to refill the water tank or change the pads for the window robot.

For Framed / Frameless Surfaces

Its area of use includes both framed and frameless glass fronts. This allows cleaning not only windows but also patio glass, vertical surfaces of conservatories, or glazed fronts in stairwells with the Hobot 2S.

Please note that using the window cleaning robot on inclined or horizontal surfaces is not permitted.

How does the Hobot 2S clean the glass front?

On both sides of the window robot, there is a water tank with an ultrasonic spray nozzle. The tank is filled with fresh tap water. During cleaning, the Hobot 2S automatically sprays micro-fine water droplets onto the surface. Each tank has a capacity of 26ml – adding cleaning agents is not recommended. The surface is cleaned in systematic paths, following a Z-shaped or N-shaped pattern. Thanks to its intelligent cleaning system, the surface is cleaned without gaps and twice as fast as comparable models.

Cleaning with Reusable Microfiber Cloths

The glass front is cleaned with washable, reusable microfiber cloths. The included cloths can be detached from the device using Velcro, washed in the washing machine (30°C without fabric softener) or by hand, and then reused. This not only saves money but also protects the environment.

Window Cleaning Solution or Distilled Water

Specifically suitable for the ultrasonic nozzles, Hobot has developed a window cleaning solution that supports window cleaning. The Hobot 2S can also be operated with distilled water. It is important to ensure that it is not tap water but exclusively distilled water!

A: The window cleaning robots are primarily designed for use on vertical surfaces (e.g., regular windows) and – depending on the model – also on horizontal glass surfaces (e.g., glass tables). Inclined or sloped surfaces like skylights or glass roofs of conservatories are not suitable for safe use.

The reason: On inclined surfaces, the adhesion of the window cleaning robot cannot be reliably guaranteed – even with models using suction technology. The risk of falling is too high.
